From Rostov gate to Moscow business centers: the best Russian series of 2022

Russian TV shows have recently delighted with qualitative changes. Thoughtful visual, sharp stories with catchy stories, productive attempts to critically comprehend reality and society. For 2022, many intriguing projects came out on the streaming platforms, and we decided to collect the best of them.

10. The chicks

The head of the PR agency Andrei Mirkin (Milos Bikovich) often applies dirty techniques to advance and knock out fatty contracts. He prefers to really stupid money earned on momentary entertainment, drugs and girls. The latter is the main problem of the hero: he is confused in random ties, twists novels for the sake of benefit and tries to use each oncoming in his interests. But soon the life of the hero full of vices goes downhill: he loses his family, work and his status in society.

The age restrictions constantly flashing at the beginning of the series are justified: the series has a lot of nude, mat and violence. In terms of aesthetics, the project was clearly stuck in the zero, although the plot was modernized to the current events of 2022. But the style of glamorous Moscow, the beginning of the century, is partly for the good and emphasizes the worldview of the protagonist, who is almost completely devoid of empathy and far from ordinary people. This year, Russian TV shows were especially uncompromising, and The Cellors were especially cruel in the publication of high -profile sentences.

9. Bud

  • Genre: Drama, comedy.
  • Number of seasons and episodes: season 1, 10 episodes.
  • Main roles: Lyubov Aksyonova, Nikolai Fomenko, Irina Rozanova.

Everything changes after passing a planned medical examination – the heroine learns that she has serious kidney problems. I urgently need an operation, and only three months remain in search of a donor. Relations with relatives in Natalia are so spoiled that for the sake of searching for a new kidney you have to resort to unexpected methods.

In the "kidney" one of the most popular Russian actresses Lyubov Aksyonov opened from a new side. She played a vile woman who seems to be impossible to sympathize with. The trick of the script, directing and acting talent is that with each series you are more and more imbued with the main character and begin to empathize with it. In Russian series, they are increasingly showing ambiguous heroes and, most importantly, intelligibly explain that they are not born villains, but become.

8. Mutual agreement

  • Genre: Drama, Thriller, Detective.
  • Number of seasons and episodes: season 1, 6 episodes.

Friends allegedly used the girl, with whom she was resting on a yacht. They do not give a move, because the same company is influential people in the city. The heroine has to survive a series of humiliation in order to achieve justice and retaliation by legal methods.

"Model Consent" is one of the most daring new Russian series. At the same time, his team of obviously the old school – the star of the black copyright dramas of the zero Valery Gai Germanicur (“School”, “will die, and I will stay”, “A short course of a happy life”) and half -forgotten actresses like Anna Snotkina and Maria Golubkina. Together, this bright female company was able to do what our other series did not succeed – frankly, boldly and without hesitation, reveal a difficult problem, which is customary in Russian society to be silent. So openly and honestly about nightmares that have to be overcome by victims of sexual violence, have not yet been said in domestic cinema.

7. Offline

  • Genre: Drama, Thriller, Detective.
  • Number of seasons and episodes: season 1, 10 episodes.
  • Main roles: Nikita Efremov, Denis Swedov, Nikita Kologriy, Polina Maksimova.
  • IMDB rating: 8.0.

Rast (Nikita Efremov) – a hacker who works at the same time for the police and helps the Investigative Committee with the investigation of particularly difficult cases. The main character himself is the new goal of detectives – he is behind the creation of a popular Behappy Appendix, with which you can sell and buy drugs online. Together with the police, competitors from the criminal world are also trying to get to the application and its developers, which puts a blast between two fires.

Russian series often copy foreign. Offline is one of the obvious examples. It can be compared with Mr. Robot or "Do not try to repeat it". In both cases, the project with Nikita Efremov (“zero patient”, “sisters”, “hostel”) clearly loses. Including because the Russian identity is at least there – even the handsome Kaliningrad serves just a background. But the landmark is important – the series of Kirill Pletneva (“Burn!"," Without me ") focuses on the best, which forces to tighten the visual, work on the plot and entertain the viewer no worse than top -end foreign projects do it. Partly offline this succeeds, which makes it one of the most exciting stories of the year.

6. Life

  • Genre: Drama, thriller.
  • Number of seasons and episodes: season 1, 8 episodes.
  • Main roles: Maxim Saprykin, Valentina Lyapina, Alexander Robak, Nikita Kologriy.

To save her own life, she decides to escape from the city. Yakut helps her in this, deciding on an adventure with the theft of money from the mafia.

In Russian series, the topic of difficult adolescents is now especially relevant – from the project of the same name to “The World! Friendship! Chewing gum "and" black spring ". Nobody has yet reached the level of "euphoria", but everyone has learned to shoot, work on the soundtrack and create dramatic stories. "Life" – the main discovery of the genre in 2022. In the series, not only the young composition is revealed in a new way, but also the adult-Alexander Robak (“Home arrest”, “Epidemic”, “Storm”) and Nikita Kologriy (“Major Thunder”, “Black Spring”, “Offline”) From the usual role. At the same time, the authors are not afraid to speak on difficult topics – from sex with minors to drugs and corrupt police officers. One of the brightest, dramatic and bold series of the year.

5. Zero patient

  • Genre: Drama, detective.
  • Number of seasons and episodes: season 1, 7 episodes.
  • Main roles: Askar Ilyasov, Nikita Efremov, Evgeny Podchkin, Pavel Maykov.
  • IMDB rating: 7.9.

The plot center has a real story that happened in 1988 in Elista. An outbreak of HIV occurred in one of the city’s hospitals, now the virus can spread not only throughout the city, but, in the worst case, in the region and country. To prevent a disaster from Moscow, a scientist epidemiologist arrives. Together with the local pediatrician who discovered the first cases of infection, he should figure out a complex business where there is no less socio-political than medical.

In the "zero patient", the authors tried to make our variation on the topic of the chernobyl toe from HBO. Together with the collapse and decomposition of the system in the series, the exploits of ordinary people reflected. While the highest ranks are trying to silence the fact of the penetration of an unfamiliar illness into the country, ordinary doctors and scientists go against the authorities and fight for people's lives. The “zero patient” clearly shows why division into his/alien and how at one point yesterday can become an enemy. The authors managed a comprehensive study of not only the late Soviet society, but also the Russian mentality as a whole – it turned out almost as deeply and accurately as the foreign creators of Chernobyl.

4. Epidemic 2

  • Genre: Drama, Fiction, Thriller.
  • Number of seasons and episodes: 2 seasons, 8 episodes each.
  • Main roles: Kirill Kyaro, Yura Borisov, Alexander Robak, Maryana Spivak.
  • IMDB rating: 7.2.

Much has changed with the new season in the Epidemic – for example, the scale has grown markedly, and Yura Borisov was entrenched in the status of the main star of the series (“Cuper number 6”, “Bull”, “World! Friendship! Chewing gum!"). The action takes place four months after the final of the first season. Spring has come, the group still wanders in unknown places and once meets the former special forces (Yura Borisov). He quickly becomes a new leader and leads people along – the heroes, Chinese military and even a forest witch will meet the heroes on the way.

“Epidemic” is an echo of the bright past, when Russian series shot at Netflix and liked foreign stars (Stephen King praised the first season). But after all the terrible events of 2022, the alignment changed, which also affected the quality of the second season. From the post -apocalypse and melodrama, the series went into the adventure genre and lost the same viscous gloomy atmosphere. In many ways, this was influenced by the change of filming and refusal to follow the literary primary source – the novel by Yana Wagner "Wongozero". The “epidemic” has become simpler, but still did not lose in spectacularity and quality of directing – the finale surprised many spectators and left an intriguing expense to continue.

3. Dropper

  • Genre: Drama, comedy.
  • Number of seasons and episodes: season 1, 6 episodes.
  • Main roles: Denis Podsotkov, Anastasia Reznik, Alexander Ratnikov, Sergey Stepin.
  • IMDB rating: 7.5.

Vanya (Denis Prytkov) works as an anesthetist-resuscitator. A few years ago, his girlfriend died from an overdose, for which Fitzdares sister sites the hero feels guilty. He tries to help her family and save people suffering from drug addiction. To earn an operation for the mother of the deceased girl, Vanya is forced to illegally work as a “dropper” – a person who illegally helps the rich and famous to quickly recover after the runs.

Among the new TV shows, the drip is the most prolonging – you quickly sit on it, and all six episodes fly instantly. In many ways, this is the merit of the directing of Ilya Aksyonov ("World! Friendship! Chewing gum!"," Relatives ") – in terms of pace, style and drama, the project is similar to the pumped version of the first season" World! Friendship! Chewing gum!". In the previous project, the director was also a soundtrack from Mujuice, an abundance of visual humor and total multi -stimulating. "Dropper" exactly shows modern Russian realities – it looks believable here that the life of a doctor, that Tiktoker. For many other series, it is worth learning from this project how to work with dramatic swing, reveal characters and without unnecessary chernukha talk about important social topics.

2. Yuzz

  • Genre: Drama, crime.
  • Number of seasons and episodes: season 1, 8 episodes.
  • The main roles: Kuzma Kotrelev, Anton Kuznetsov, Maria Macelle, Dmitry Chebotarev, Maria Mashkova.

Ravil (Kuzma Kotrelev) is a young programmer living in the criminal area of the yuz on the outskirts of Rostov. At one of the parties, he meets El (Maria Matsel) – a niece of authority from the center (Gela Meskhi), who controls almost the entire city. The girl intends to leave to study in America, and the hero dreams of entering Texas University. To find money for a dream, the hero begins to work for the legendary bandit Vova Smoke (Anton Kuznetsov). A couple in love is in the center of the conflict of two groups that cannot share the city in any way.

Variation on the topic "Romeo and Juliet" in the entourage of the Rostov district showdowns – one of the best Russian series of the year. The authors take the hackneyed scenario trails, but transform them due to unique entourage, living characters and non -banal locations. In fashionable domestic series, real Russia flickers less and less. “Yuzz” is a reverse example that provides that soils and familiar images work much better than any imitation of Western hits.

1. 1703

  • Genre: Comedy, detective.
  • Number of seasons and episodes: season 1, 8 episodes.
  • The main roles: Kuzma Saprykin, Gosha Kutsenko, Sofya Lebedeva, Pavel Tabakov, Andrey Fedortsov.
  • IMDB rating: 7.9.

A young partner from Moscow is assigned to an experienced St. Petersburg policeman. Together, Brutal Gosha (Gosha Kutsenko) and hipstorevated Vadik (Kuzma Saprykin) investigate the mysterious case of the disappearance of corpses from the morgue, simultaneously plunging into the mystical inside out of St. Petersburg.

In 2022, several black comedies were published: for example, I made a good laugh on the Web "Hello again!". But “1703” became a truly breakthrough project. The authors play with the canons of the Noir genre, placing purely American history in the most Russian entourage. The project violates all the usual canons, balances on the verge of censorship and constantly provokes the viewer – other series of 2022 against its background seem outdated. "1703" is an embodied postmodern and the most experimental comedy of the year. It is difficult to say what is most surprising: games with a narrative, hilarious obscene monologues, crazy cameo or scandalous images. The authors managed to simultaneously show a real modern Peter, go into a psychedelic trip and climb into the most distant depths of the Russian soul. It seems that our industry is not yet ready for such a bold and fresh experiment.
